NCSoft hat gegenüber Joystiq die Verkaufszahl des Online-Rollenspiels Guild Wars weltweit mit 6,5 Mio. Exemplaren angegeben. Rund die Hälfte dieser Verkaufszahl sei in Europa erzielt worden. Am erfolgreichsten sei Guild Wars in Deutschland, wobei das koreanische Unternehmen jedoch keine konkreten Zahlen nennt.
Im Gegensatz zu Abo-Spielen wie World of Warcraft kann Guild Wars nach Erwerb der Vollversion kostenlos gespielt werden. Ein Veröffentlichungstermin für das lange erwartete Guild wars 2 steht immer noch nicht fest.
