Big Fish has appointed David Stephenson as its new chief financial officer.

Stephenson joins from Amazon.com where he spent over 11 years as North American vice president of finance. He's also worked with Procter & Gamble.

"Big Fish has kept a low profile," said Stephenson.

"When I came to know the team and the business I was incredibly impressed, particularly with their culture and talent base, their obsessive focus on developers and customers, and their data-driven decision making and operational rigour. Big Fish is a great brand with terrific opportunities ahead and I'm thrilled to be part of the team."

Stephenson will focus on business and finance strategy for Big Fish's global operations.

"Dave's experience, values and performance orientation make him an excellent cultural fit for Big Fish," added CEO Jeremy Lewis.

"His demonstrated track record of leading operational finance teams focused on large and complex consumer markets aligns incredibly well with our business and our plans for extending our operations, brand and product offerings across multiple platforms and geographies."

Big Fish Games, founded in 2002, currently sells its titles in over 150 different countries and has a network of over five million development partners. Its games include the Hidden Expedition and Mystery Case Files series, and Fish Tycoon.
