Die Produktion des iPad 3 soll angeblich bereits im Januar 2012 beginnen. Das meldet das auf die taiwanesische und chinesische Halbleiterindustrie spezialisierte Portal DigiTimes unter Berufung auf informierte, industrienahe Kreise.
Die Touch-Modul-Lieferanten TPK Holding und Wintek sollen ebenfalls ihre zugelieferten Bauteile bis Dezember an das mit der Produktion beauftragte chinesische Elektronikunternehmen Foxconn geliefert haben.
Obwohl das iPad 2 über ein 24,63 cm großes Display verfügt, testet Apple angeblich derzeit auch ein nur 19,95 cm großes Display, das von Optronics und LG hergestellt wird.
