Bethesda Softworks hat sich mit Interplay im Streit um die Namensrechte von Fallout geeinigt. Danach gibt Interplay gegen eine Zahlung von zwei Millionen Dollar die Pläne auf, unter dem Namen Fallout ein Online-Multiplayerspiel zu veröffentlichen. Die in unbekannter Hlöhe angefallenen Gerichtskosten tragen beide Parteien selbst.
Interplay darf weiterhin ältere Titel der Fallout-Serie bis Ende 2013 vertreiben. Dazu gehören Fallout, Fallout 2 und Fallout: Tactics.
