Der enorm umstrittene Kopierschutz von Ubisoft, der eine ständige Verbindung zum Internet verlangt, hat nicht nur Feinde. Namco Bandais Vice President Olivier Comte hat in einem Interview mit CVG die Bemühungen von Ubisoft begrüßt, die Piraterie einzudämmen.
„Ich glaube, es ist aus einem Grund ein guter Ansatz: Ich habe derzeit keine Alternative“, so Comte. „Ist es die beste Alternative? Sicherlich nicht, aber zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt ist es besser, irgendetwas zu machen als gar nichts zu tun. Derzeit fahren sie [Ubisoft, Anm. D. Red.] eine gute Strategie.”
