PSP: Sony hält die 3D-Technologien für Handhelds für zu unpräzise.
Obwohl Nintendo wegen der Präsentation des durchaus beeindruckenden Nintendo 3DS als "Sieger" der E3 2010 angesehen wird, hat Sony keine Pläne, in die nächste Generation der PSP einen 3D-Bildschirm zu integrieren.
In einem Interview mit IndustryGamers hat Scott Rohde, Vice President der Sony Worldwide Studios, jegliche Entwicklungen in ähnliche Richtung wie Nintendo verneint. Dass eine PSP2 in Entwicklung ist, dürfte dennoch auf der Hand liegen. "Es ist nur etwas, was wir im Moment nicht ankündigen", so Rohde. "Es ist wirklich so einfach."
Zuvor hatte bereits Sonys amerikanischer PlayStation-Chef Kaz Hirai ohne direkte Nennung des Wettbewerbers die Technologie des Nintendo 3DS als unausgereift dargestellt.
